CHEMISTRY AND SUSTAINABILITY: A SYMPOSIUM OF "GREEN CHEMISTRY" CONTACT GROUP OF THE ITALIAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY

A half-day symposium on Chemistry and sustainability will be organized in the  frame of Chem Med 2011 whithin the special focus S-Chem.

The aims of the meeting are those of discussing the actual implementation of the principles of sustainability in the industry and of strengthening the contact between industry and academia towards a common target. The introduction of procedures that are chemically effective and economically sound is a must in modern chemical industry.

This will be organized together with the Contact Group ‘Green Chemistry’ of the Italian Chemical Society and a joint industry-academia organizing committee will be established.

Four plenary lectures (40 min) and four contributed lectures (15 min, chosen by the organizing committee) are foreseen.

The Contact Group ‘Green Chemistry’ of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) has been established in 2006. The mission is increasing the awareness of the sustainability perspective among Italian practitioners of the different chemical disciplines, both in industry and in academia, and favoring the advancement of ‘green’ chemical science.
